Front of House Supervisor (Restaurant)

This role offers a 36 hour contract working alternate weekends.

A Front of House Supervisor is an integral part of the senior restaurant team and will support the Restaurant Manager in all areas of the restaurant, including taking responsibility for its effective running during their absence. This is very much a hands on role where you will use your exceptional organisational, prioritisation, and strong attention to detail skills to ensure service and quality standards are met at all times.

Working as a team to maximise sales and service within the department, your duties will include:

  • Train, motivate and coach members of the department to perform to their best and provide an outstanding customer experience
  • Work hands on with team members and promote the importance and benefits of effective team working. Demonstrate a positive leadership style with an enthusiastic, positive, committed and flexible attitude
  • Delivering excellent standards of customer service at all times by listening, understanding and dealing with customer queries in a confident, professional, knowledgeable and friendly manner.
  • Assisting with the daily operations of the restaurant, staff training and embedding the standards required of the team
  • Regularly running the shift, ensuring that daily shift plans are followed (managing breaks, shift changeovers and table plans) – whilst also undertaking ‘hands on’ duties as required
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with other front of house supervisors, ensuring that the team work together in a common goal and vision of delighting our customers to drive sales and return visits
  • Delivering excellent standards of customer service at all times by listening, understanding and dealing with customer queries in a confident, professional, knowledgeable and friendly manner – and leading and motivating the team to do the same
  • Using initiative to make the right decisions
  • Effective communication with the kitchen team e.g. in relation to food allergens
  • Assist with ensuring that high standards of hygiene, safety and general housekeeping are met at all times
  • Ensuring personal cleanliness and that of the team is to a high standard at all times (clothes, hands, PPE etc)
  • Dealing with complaints in the restaurant through to a successful resolution
  • Maintain vigilance against theft of services

Contracted hours: 36 per week

Warehouse Assistant

This role will be for 40 per week to include alternate weekend working

All deliveries for the store are received and booked in via our warehouse, therefore this role is busy and very hands on. To ensure that the right goods are stored in the right places at the right time, we are seeking candidates with great planning and organisation skills. Our stock lines change regularly (in line with the season etc), therefore you will need to be constantly thinking ahead to plan and implement the stock layout changes needed to ensure the warehouse runs effectively. Just as important will be your excellent attention to detail and strong knowledge of health and safety procedures.

Working as a team to maximise sales and service within the department, your duties will include:

  • Booking in and taking delivery of goods using PDA device and internal WinRetail system
  • Completion of delivery log daily for all deliveries also to include temperature control log
  • Moving stock around by hand, using lifting gear or counterbalance forklift truck
  • Regular lifting / manual handling
  • Checking deliveries against the delivery note, accurately recording damaged or missing items, and raising supplier notifications or discrepancy forms
  • Arranging supplier uplifts for damaged stock / returns (to include packaging items / pallets and liaising external suppliers / Rosebourne accounts department)
  • Accurately processing paperwork, including use of computerised systems
  • Safely storing goods
  • Assist with store wide stock takes
  • Keeping work areas and walkways clean, tidy and safe
  • Maintaining high levels of safety standards
  • Attending staff meetings and relevant training courses
  • Other duties as required within the department and wider store as required

Contracted hours: 40 per week

Horticultural Customer Assistant

This role will be for 32 per week to include alternate weekends

The role of Customer Assistant will be a varied role and is a fantastic opportunity for those who love interacting with customers along with being hardworking, quick learning and have a passion for plants. You will provide friendly and knowledgeable service to our customers, therefore great customer service skills are a must.

Working as a team to maximise sales and service within the department, your duties will include:

  • Greeting customers & assisting customers, helping them to find what they’re looking for
  • Stock replenishment/merchandising/housekeeping, ensuring that items are attractively displayed, and department is clean & tidy
  • Delivering excellent standards of customer service at all times by listening, understanding and dealing with customer queries in a confident, professional, knowledgeable and friendly manner
  • Manual lifting. This includes helping customers to the tills and cars with heavier items, such as compost, pots and trees
  • Maintaining good product knowledge in order that accurate advice can be given to customers (changing lines, seasonal products and suppliers)
  • Support with checkout (till) operation as required
  • Other duties as required within the department and wider store as required

Home, Giftware and Seasonal Customer Assistant

(2 positions)

This role consists of 2 positions: 16 hours (alternate weekend working with hours in the week) and 8 hours (every Saturday)

The role of Customer Assistant will be a varied role and is a fantastic opportunity for those who love interacting with customers along with being hardworking, quick learning and have a passion for product. You will provide friendly and knowledgeable service to our customers, therefore great customer service skills are a must.

Working as a team to maximise sales and service within the department, your duties will include:

  • Greeting customers & assisting customers, helping them to find what they’re looking for
  • Stock replenishment/merchandising/housekeeping, ensuring that items are attractively displayed, and department is clean & tidy
  • Delivering excellent standards of customer service at all times by listening, understanding and dealing with customer queries in a confident, professional, knowledgeable and friendly manner
  • Manual lifting. This includes helping customers to the tills and cars with heavier items, such as furniture sets and artificial Christmas trees
  • Maintaining good product knowledge in order that accurate advice can be given to customers (changing lines, seasonal products, and suppliers)
  • Support with checkout (till) operation as required
  • Other duties as required within the department and wider store as required

Contracted hours: 16 per week and 8 per week

Food Hall & Tills Customer Assistant

This role offers multiple hours including a 25 hour role which includes working every weekend and a 16 hour role working every Saturday and Sunday.

The role of Customer Assistant will be a varied role and is a fantastic opportunity for those who love interacting with customers along with being hardworking, quick learning and have a passion for food. You will provide friendly and knowledgeable service to our customers, therefore great customer service skills are a must.

Working as a team to maximise sales and service within the department, your duties will include:

  • Greeting customers
  • Assisting customers, helping them find what they’re looking for
  • Dealing with deliveries
  • Stock replenishment / merchandising, ensuring that items are attractively displayed
  • Delivering excellent standards of customer service at all times by listening, understanding and dealing with customer queries in a confident, professional, knowledgeable and friendly manner
  • Maintaining good product knowledge in order that accurate advice can be given to customers (changing lines, seasonal products and suppliers)
  • Adhering to food safety requirements, including date checking and due diligence
  • Assisting customers on the telephone

Working on our tills, which will include:

  • Scanning & weighing relevant products
  • Checking customers’ ages for restrictions on items like alcohol
  • Packing and wrapping purchases
  • Taking payments and processing coupons / vouchers
  • Leaving our customers with an excellent final impression as they leave the store

Full-time and Part-time hours: 25 hours & 16 hours

Front of House Team Member (Restaurant)

This role offers a 12 hour contract working every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

You are our important link to our customers. You should be responsible for ensuring our customers leave having had an excellent experience in terms of food, service, and the environment. You will be responsible for ensuring that each customer within the restaurant receives your undivided attention at all times, meeting and exceeding their needs and expectations.

Working as a team to maximise sales and service within the department, your duties will include:

  • To have a clear understanding of all aspects of the menu and its contents as well as the daily specials to allows you to serve customers to the best of your ability
  • To have an understanding of all allergens data and where to go to get further information should this be required.
  • To ensure customers are approached and drinks, meal and dessert orders are taken to the agreed standard as laid out in the Rosebourne Way at all times. To ensure the correct cutlery, napkins and condiments are served quickly and efficiently
  • To clear in all dirty tableware correctly and efficiently and, wherever possible to run this to the wash up and decant correctly. Where not possible to use “buss trays” stored correctly
  • To deal with bill payments, splits, discounts, vouchers and replacements in an efficient manner
  • To engage with customers and ensure they’ve had a good experience and to bring to your line manager’s attention if there is anything that needs to be resolved or improved.
  • To have a through understanding of the dining room layout and table numbers
  • To have a clear understanding of the dishwasher layout and how to run dirties into wash up as well as replenish cleans out.
  • To be able to set up and replenish all waiter sections including fridges and consumables storage
  • To be able to replenish all stock from the dry stores / cold rooms so that all condiments and service can be delivered efficiently.
  • To close down the dining room and carry out cleaning standards to achieve the highest levels of presentation at all times and to carry out deep cleans as directed.

Kitchen Porter

This role will be a 18 hour position working every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

You are responsible for the quick and efficient operation of the Dish Wash room area ensuring that the Kitchen, Bar and Dining room are provided with their equipment and quickly as possible in a safe manner. Also maintaining the safety of the Dish Wash and surrounding areas at all times to avoids slips, trips and accidents.

Working as a team to maximise sales and service within the department, your duties will include:

  • To work as a team in keeping all kitchen pots, pans and racks washed and returned to the correct location for service and to keep the pot wash area clean and tidy and free of rubbish and debris
  • Where needed to assist in clearing in all dirty tableware correctly and efficiently and, wherever possible to run this to the wash up and decant correctly. Where not possible to use “buss trays” stored correctly
  • To work with Kitchen team and providing support as required to carry out food preparation and assistance during service as required
  • To work with the Front of House team and providing back up with service to both the Dining Room and Bar.
  • To be able to set up and dismantle all dishwasher and glass washer machines correctly and replenish all detergents and salt correctly in line with COSHH regulations
  • To be able to carry out a deep clean of all equipment including drains and back of house areas.
  • To be able to operate and maintain the cutlery polisher in a safe and correct manner
  • To have an understanding of all chemicals, cleaning materials and consumables storage and types to be able to provide colleagues with the correct product and keep stored in the right location.
  • To assist with Goods Inwards as required in receiving and putting away stocks and dealing with waste container change over.

Contracted hours: 18 hours
