Christmas Tree Throwing Competition 2019
9 . 01 . 19
More than 50 people gathered across our two sites in Aldermaston and Weyhill for our annual Christmas Tree Throwing Competition on Saturday 5th January 2019. Families had plenty of fun throwing the trees as far as five metres. The trees will now be recycled by being chipped and used as mulch around the sites.
This fun family event is in its second year following the huge success of the inaugural event at our Weyhill store in January 2018. Many families returned for the second year of the Weyhill competition, while there were lots of enthusiastic new faces at the first competition at the new Aldermaston site.
There were two categories in the competition: trees under 5ft and trees over 5ft, and prizes in each category of either a free Christmas tree of the same size for next year or an afternoon tea for two.
We were delighted to see so many excited families getting involved in our popular competition. It was a great success and we’ll definitely do it again next year. People kept telling us just how much they enjoyed themselves and it was nice to see little ones taking part in the smaller tree categories.
All Christmas trees can be recycled at our Weyhill and Aldermaston stores until 14th January.
