The Owton family has been farming on Chalcroft Farm for over 600 years with the earliest known record dating back to 1257. Inspired by his father’s involvement in the wholesale meat industry, Rob Owton founded Owton’s Traditional Family Butchers in the early 1980s. The multi award-winning family-run organisation is now one of the most reputable and premier butchers and farm shop proprietors in the county.

With a passion for quality and only the best customer service, Owton’s have been awarded four Gold awards and named ‘Supreme Champion’ at the Butchers Q Guild Smithfield awards. Owton’s famous Corporal Jones’ sausages also scooped a food Oscar at the Great Taste Awards. All of Owton’s sausages are made in the traditional way using fresh local bread and milk instead of food industry rusks and water. This makes for a moist and rich sausage.
