We are very pleased to be working with locally renowned and multi award-winning Cook & Butcher at our new store opening in Aldermaston this September.
Established in March 2010, in the heart of an on-going recession Cook & Butcher was born.
At the age of 14, Pete Congerton landed himself a job in the butchery trade. Starting as a Saturday boy and slowly progressing through the ranks, Pete developed a passion and love for quality food.
With a fine eye for detail and perfection, it soon became apparent to achieve the best, he would need to take the jump and do it himself. With years of experience, it was time to pick out all the best bits of fine butchery and throw out all the bad habits, such as packet seasoning for sausages and too much wasted time on the golf course.
Having worked in butchery for so long, it was time to bring back good old valued traditions but this time with a modern approach. Cook & Butcher make all their sausages and burgers by hand with homemade recipes and source local produce to do so. For example all their beef is from Broad View Farm at Cold Ash, their pork is from Fernworth Farm in Headley, and their lamb is from Oxford.
Having been established in nearby Thatcham for some time, Cook & Butcher has built great relations with their customers and are always striving to meet new people with an eye for good quality produce.
Cook & Butcher’s new store at Rosebourne Aldermaston will offer sausages, burgers and other traditional butchery items (including a range of gluten free items).
